Renting a car is our strongest recommendation. Tuscany rewards the freedom to wander, and you'll want that flexibility for any day trips on either side of the weekend. The borgo is a straightforward drive from several airports:

For international flights, Rome generally has the widest selection of options.

If you're traveling solo and would like to split a ride to Laticastelli with other guests, let us know and we'll try to connect you with someone on a similar flight.

If you'd rather skip the rental, trains and buses both run to Siena, which is roughly a 25-minute taxi ride from the borgo.

• From Florence: about 2 hours by train, or 1.5 hours by bus
• From Rome: about 3 hours, by either train or bus

This works, but keep in mind it's slower than driving and it'll make it harder to explore the area on your own schedule once you're here.
